All Ireland 2010 Progress ReportSeptember 2009 Event Signage is erected in Lower Aghada Vilage - Accomodation packs are sent out to all club secretaries. December 2009 - Annual General Meeting of the irish Coastal Rowing Federation takes place in Lower Aghada at the proposed venue. It gave us the opportunity to outline our plans for the event to the Federation and also for the delegates from around the country to take a look at the event centre and surrounding area. Well at this stage plans are well underway. A fundraising plan has been drawn up and in the coming weeks official announcements will be made in relation to these events. There are four main fundraising plans being prepared which will greatly offset the costs of staging this event. January 2010 New year upon us, fundraising is a priority. Table Quiz, Race Night and Fashion Show all planned already. Details in news section of site as they become available. We have secured some of the main event sposnors and have recently met with local groups who will be involved in event. Late January and we held a Table Quiz as our first major fundraiser in the Schooner Bar in Whitegate. A great night was had by all and most importantly the fundraising campaign is up and running. February 2010 - We have launched details of our next fundraiser a Fashion Show to take place on Wednesday 16th March at The Arcade in Midleton. Tickets are available from committee members at €10 each. We are also advancing preparations for the event itself. We are working on the logistics of the event and the course preparation work is ue to begin in just a few days. Its hard to believe that we are already working on the course. MARCH 2010 As March is upon us now things are in full swing. A Bingo Night has been arranged for Wednesday 10th March in Aghada Hall. The course markings have been agreed and we expect to lay the starting set before the end of March. The fashion show is also ready to roll or should i say stroll. It promises to be a great night and possibly early St Patricks morning on the 16th March 2010 at the Arcade, Midleton. We are also in talks with some more major sponsors to come on board with us to support the event. The Fashion show has sold out in record time and promises to be an eventful evening. We have a float entered in the St Patricks Day Parade in Midleton to show case the event. April 2010 Its getting Close Now. Progress is developing well. Our Cinderella Pantomime is being held on Saturday 10th and 17th April in Aghada Hall. Its our last big fundraiser for the event. The Course is not being prepared for setting in Early May. May 2010 Only three months to go now until one of the biggest sporting events in Cork kicks off. Pantominme was such a huge success its running a matinees show in early May. More sponsors are coming on board. Preparatory work is ongoing with the course. First regatta kicks off at Blackrock. June 2010 Well with June comes our own Champoionship Regatta. None the less we are still driving on with the preparations. First Event Signage is due for delivery in early June. Programme is underway and we expect to have it ready for printing in early July. We are actively seeking more sponsorship. First of the startline buoys have been put in place with the rest due to be done in late June. Rest of Course will be set in early July.
July 2010 Well its less than a month to go now. Things are really taking shape in East Cork for what promises to be one of the finest events to date. The Start Line is out and laid with just a few minor adjustments to be made. See Course Map . The first and Second Sets are all prepared and ready for laying which we expect to be done by 30th July. Accomodation is really starting to book up so if you have not booked yet get cracking on it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Event Programme is underway and should be on the shelvesby August 10th. Sure to be a best seller. Keep an eye on the website in coming days for more updates. |
